While your registration with the DNC Registry is immediate, you may continue to receive unsolicited telemarketing messages for up to 21 calendar days. This is to allow organisations to use the list of telephone numbers that were checked, for the next 21 calendar days. 

As the DNC provisions focus on telemarketing messages targeted at consumers, you may still receive certain types of messages (such as messages offering you employment, surveys or business-to-business messages).

Also, organisations that have an ongoing relationship with you are exempted from having to check the DNC Registry if they send you telemarketing messages on similar or related products and services.
