The PDPC has published the Guide to Accountability under the PDPA, which introduces the concept of accountability and how organisations may adopt this approach to personal data protection. The current “Openness Obligation” has also been updated into the “Accountability Obligation” in the PDPC's advisory guidelines. This will provide clarity on the PDPC’s interpretation of accountability in relation to Sections 11 and 12 of the PDPA.
