A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the PDPC and the Philippines' National Privacy Commission (NPC) was signed today.

The MOU sets out how both sides will cooperate and commit in the areas of mutual exchange of information and assistance in joint investigations, development of compatible mechanisms to facilitate cross-border data flows such as participation in the in the APEC Cross-Border Privacy Rules, and ASEAN Cross-Border Data Flows Mechanism, and to explore use of sandboxes to test innovative data sharing ideas.

This MOU also marks Singapore's first data protection-related MOU with a Data Protection Authority in ASEAN, and signals the strong partnership which Singapore continues to forge with its collaboration partners.
