Privacy Awareness Week 2016

Start Date

End Date

22 May 2016

Time

An initiative by the Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities, the Privacy Awareness Weekis held yearly in May to promote awareness of privacy and personal data protection issues. The Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) is proud to participate for the second year and is commemorating the event from 16 to 22 May 2016.

This year's theme "Data Protection in Your Hands" reminds us that we are all responsible for the protection of personal data. With the rapid immersion of technology in our daily lives, there is now more personal data being collected, used and disclosed every second of the day. It is up to the individual to make informed choices when deciding to share his personal data, and up to organisations to respect the personal data through responsible collection, use and disclosure.

Personal data is valuable. We should protect it.
